Vehicle Overview
The Fusion is one of the few midsize sedans to offer all-wheel drive. Buyers have a choice of S, SE and SEL trim levels; there are also the related Mercury Milan and Lincoln MKZ for folks of differing tastes. The Fusion's competition includes the Toyota Camry, Honda Accord and Chevrolet Malibu.
New for 2009
The Ford Fusion gets an electronic stability system added to its optional equipment.
Exterior
The exterior is 190.2 inches long and 72.2 inches wide; in such a highly competitive market, all vehicles (with the exception of the much longer Accord) are closely matched in size.

A feature unique to Ford is an ambient-lighting option that's now standard on the SEL trims. It gives drivers a choice of seven lighting colors, which can be selected with a dashboard switch, for the footwells and cupholder accent lights. Passenger volume is 100 cubic feet. Trunk capacity is 15.8 cubic feet, which bests the Fusion's competition. The 60/40-split flat-folding rear seats have spring assistance and a pass-thru to the trunk. SE and SEL trim levels come standard with a folding front passenger seat.
